Organization Endowment Fund
For non-profit groups to ensure their future

When you or a charitable organization creates an Organization Endowment, you are providing permanent support for the on-going, operational needs of your favorite charity. Often the board members of charitable organizations establish these endowments and build them over time to increase the annual benefits derived from a larger fund. In good times and bad, these organizations can count on this permanent funding resource year after year.

You may contribute to these funds at any time, receiving the maximum tax benefit allowable with each new gift.

A personal connection

Friends of non-profit organizations in the Lowcountry are definitely looking forward when they establish organizational endowments to invest in a charity’s future.

The Avery Institute for Afro-American History and Culture was the first to create an organizational endowment with CCF in 1983. Since then, 37 funds have been created from East Cooper Meals-on-Wheels to Colleton County Historical and Preservation Society to The Dee Holmes Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center.

Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding (CATR) is the only nationally accredited therapeutic riding program in South Carolina. In 2001, Helen Warren, a board member, started building a fund for its future, when money for current operational costs was scarce.

“It was an important step,” said Executive Director, Murray Neale. “It sent a message to the community that we’re here to stay.”

Today, CATR owns their own property, where so many challenged children first climbed into the saddle and realized what they could do.
