Field-of-Interest Funds
To Benefit Specific Areas of Community Life
When you create a Field-of-Interest Fund, you have the flexibility to support the causes that you are most passionate about, whether your interests are as broad as “the environment” or as specific as residential programs for “at-risk” children. You can choose whether to focus your grants in a specific town or across the entire CCF service area. You may also choose to support CCF’s annual Open Grants in your particular field-of-interest. With your fund, you can be confident that your gift is supporting the most effective programs addressing the community needs you care about.
You may add to your fund at any time, receiving the maximum tax benefit allowable with each new gift. If your fund is large enough, a separate advisory selection committee may be formed.
Donor Story
A Personal Connection
After retiring from her work in the health field, Jeanne Edwards devoted herself to the needs of her neighbors in her beloved McClellanville until she died.
“I know of one man, who was dying of cancer, whom Jeanne transported to Charleston for treatments several times a week, for months,” said her friend Patty Fulcher.
Jeanne also tutored elementary school children, volunteered in her church, and had a keen interest in the arts, nature, animals and enjoyed gardening. In her will, Ms. Edwards made a provision to create a Field-of-Interest Fund at CCF with the proceeds from the sale of her home to help the children of the McClellanville area, which she had called home for 50 years. |
