Donor-Advised Funds
A personal “hands-on” approach to philanthropy

When you create a Donor Advised Fund, you will be joining a large number of donors who choose to remain actively involved in recommending gifts from their fund. Throughout the year, CCF’s professional program staff is available to work with you to target the issues you care about most and to help you recommend grants. When approved, grant awards are then issued to charities in the name of your fund, or anonymously (as you prefer). It’s a simple, powerful and highly personal approach to giving. Donor Advised Funds are a cost-efficient alternative to creating a private foundation. CCF takes care of all the paperwork, while you enjoy the giving.

You can add to your fund at any time, receiving the maximum tax benefit allowable with each new gift. You may also designate one generation of successor-advisor(s) to carry on your charitable giving after you are gone or arrange for it to become part of the unrestricted funds that CCF gives annually where the need is greatest.

Individual Donor
A personal connection

Last Christmas, Elizabeth “Libby” Smith came to CCF concerned that her 20-something year-old sons, Ethan and Aaron, had been raised with too much conspicuous consumption.

“I wanted to give my sons the experience of using financial resources to provide helping hands, improve individual and community options,” Libby said. So she gave them a “fund” at CCF as a Christmas present.

At first, they were skeptical. Now, they are very excited about the opportunity and want to do something to help disadvantaged, minority children becausethey realize that these children “had nowhere near as good a deal in life as we did.” The boys are calling their fund after them – Rich and Ollie Fund.
