Choose the Fund Closest to Your Heart
The following funds are available to you at CCF. Pick the one that best suits your charitable goals, or contribute to existing funds.
Unrestricted Funds
To meet ever-changing community needs
Through your Unrestricted Fund, you empower CCF to make grant decisions in your fund’s name to address the community’s most pressing and changing needs through annual competitive grant programs to which all nonprofit groups may apply.
Field of Interest Funds
To benefit specific areas of community life
Through your Field of Interest Fund, you can support charitable groups working in an area of specific interest (at-risk children) or general interest (the environment). Your giving may be in a specific town or across CCF’s eight counties.
Donor Advised Funds
A personal “hands-on” approach to giving
Through your Donor Advised Fund, you stay closely involved with your giving by working with program staff to recommend grants to charitable programs you wish to support. Gifts may be made in your fund’s name or anonymously. You may also include your family in your fund’s activity or as future donor-advisors.
Scholarships
A good life begins with a good education
Through your Scholarship Fund, you can help deserving students attend high school or college. Working with CCF staff and the school(s), you establish selection criteria to choose those students to further their educational goals.
Designated Funds
For donors with specific charities in mind
Through your Designated Fund you can make grants to one or more specific charitable organizations of your choice. Your gift provides funding, while you benefit from expert planned giving and investment management services.
Organization Endowments
For non-profit groups to ensure their future
Through an Organization Endowment Fund you can support the on-going, operational needs of a particular nonprofit organization. It’s a simple and efficient way to create a permanent source of funding for your favorite charity.
Affiliate Organization
Partnering to build philanthropy
You may also create a CCF Affiliate Organization, which is a separate legal, grantmaking entity with its own governing board and grantmaking decisions. CCF manages the assets, takes care of all of the paperwork and provides expertise and staff support as needed. An Affiliate Organization provides you with an excellent alternative to the creation of a private foundation. Leave investment management, startup costs, grant administration, and reporting to your community foundation. The IRS must approve any affiliate organizations that gain charitable status through CCF.
Corporate Donor-Advised Funds
Effective and efficient community giving
With a corporation, you may streamline your company's giving by establishing a Donor-Advised Fund through which all gifts to the community can be made. CCF manages the assets and advises on nonprofits of interest, while you recommend grants. When solicited, you may reply that you do "all of your corporate giving through the Coastal Community Foundation."
For more information and ideas on ways to maximize your giving, talk to your financial advisor and contact CCF. We work closely with professional advisors and welcome working with you and yours.

Tom and Charlotte Rech are veterans of community foundation work. For years they helped enhance the educational offerings and accessibility to the Louisville Zoo for low-income families through an endowed fund at the Louisville Community Foundation. At CCF, they have created The Rech Family Fund to focus their local giving.
