Bringing Us Together

2007 Annual Report to the Community

Most of what we do is seen through the great work of the nonprofit organizations that receive funding from one of our grantmaking programs or from grants recommeded by our donors.

Bringing Us Together features the six focus areas that Coastal Community Foundation provides funding for: arts, education, environment, health, human needs, and neighborhood and community development.  It also reports on the financials, grantmaking, and extensive list of funds and endowments we manage in addition to the growing list of nonprofit organizaitons we are connected to in the Lowcountry.

The "Djole Drummers and Dancers" program started by Ida Taylor is one big reason why the children growing up in Union Heights community don't loiter on street corners.

In the summer of 2006, the group traveled to west Africa to perform and to help raise awareness about HIV-aids.
